Founded in 2008 by Leah Shafir Zahavi, Inner Piece is a design studio that creates handmade ceramic tiles for residential and commercial installations.

At Inner Piece, we pay homage to the time-honored artistic traditions of the past, yet we always search for modern interpretations. Our products are made out of humble materials, like clay and yarn that have been cultivated by man since antiquity. We believe it is important to reintroduce these timeless materials back into our living spaces because they affirm our humanity, evoke a sense of home, and echo our collective yearning to go back to the garden and simplify our lives.

Yet even though our products are made by hand and inspired by time-honored values, our designs are informed by a modern sensibility and cutting-edge creativity. Our accent tiles are perfect for fine art mosaic murals, and are a favorite choice because of their elegant palette and intriguing textures, and because “they are simply beautiful.”

We cater to people who make art an integral part of their daily experience and our customers are people who have an innate flair for beauty and an appreciation for things that are hand crafted. Architects and interior designers select Inner Piece tiles for backsplashes, bathrooms, and fireplace surrounds—in fact, anywhere in the home that calls for a unique and richly evocative surface treatment.

Why the name Inner Piece? It’s because we see our mosaic tiles as central elements in a larger installation, and also because the name suggests tranquility. Our collections are designed to do both: vivify a space and imbue it with a peaceful presence.

We introduce a new collection each year, and also produce special edition art tiles. We welcome custom projects of all types and can work with designers, art consultants, and landscape architects (or their clients) on site-specific installations for high-end interiors or public spaces.
